    3. I delete all digest mode emails. They don't pertain to me as I have never included a digest mode number when sending messages to the list. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now.

They don't pertain to me as I have never >included a digest mode number when sending messages to the list. > ----------------------------------------------- Perhaps not all subscribers to the list understand what Digest Mode is. Digest mode combines several postings to the list that are sent together as a single large message. Subscribing to digest mode is one of the options everyone is given when they subscribe to any RootsWeb.Ancestry.com mailing list. This a particularly useful method for those who prefer not to receive numerous single messages from a busy mailing list, or for those subscribe to a large number of mailing lists. Even though a person subscribes to a mailing list in "regular" mode the responses sent by subscribers to the digest mode may contain the information that could knock down a genealogical brick wall. When you delete the digest mode responses unread you run the risk of not seeing a useful response. The digest mode number is a number assigned by the mailing list robot that automatically combines and sends the messages that are posted to the list. Leona

    3. It's just that when I send an email to the group I make the subject reflect what I am emailing about. Leaving the subject line as Digest Mode and a number means nothing to me. If someone wanted to reply to an email I sent then it would make sense to change the subject line to what I would notice such as changing the subject to what that person originally used. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
