There were enough they formed a Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge on the south end, where most Croatians lived. But there were not enough to justify a Croatian Church. Many worked for Buckeye Steel Castings which manufactured railroad car wheels and axles. The company was owned or partly owned by John D. Rockefeller, and at one time Grand Daddy Bush (yep the President's kin!)
