So if he died in the gap period it might not appear. However the FamilySearch.labs site (which you have to register for, but is free and not associated with Ancestry.com)has Ohio Death Certificates from 1909 to 1953. This surely should have him assuming he didn't live to be older than 107. But I can't find him on it, though several of his children are. So I wonder if perhaps he went by a nickname?
