    3. Mary Jane "Janie" Craigo September 22, 2010 AVON PARK, FL: Mary Jane "Janie" Craigo, 82, Avon Park, Florida, formerly of West Lafayette, passed away on Friday, August 27, in Sebring, Florida. Jane was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 19, 1928, a daughter of the late Howard and Hazel Russell Schwindt. She was a graduate of West Lafayette High School, class of 1946, and the Frances Payne Bolton College of Nursing of Case Western Reserve University in June, 1951. In Ohio, she belonged to the West Lafayette United Methodist Church and the O. E. S. (Eastern Star) Chapter # 157, Coshocton. Jane has been a resident of Avon Park since 1987. She enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She also belonged to the Golfettes League at River Greens South Golf Course, Avon Park. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her son, Michael Joseph Craigo, Bay Village, Ohio, who died on March 6, 1998; also deceased are her brothers-in-law, George R. Davis, West Lafayette, who died earlier this year, and Ralph R. Slack, West Lafayette, who died in 2001. Jane is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph (Joe) Craigo, Avon Park, whom she married on January 28, 1951; she also leaves three daughters, Deborah J. Felix, Williamstown, Massachusetts, Pamela J. and husband Tom Vining, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Beth A. and husband David Richards, Boerne, Texas; four grandchildren, Brad Felix, Williamstown, Amanda Vining, Tulsa, and James and Joseph Richards of Boerne; her sister, Dorothy A. Davis, West Lafayette; two brothers, Dr. Charles and wife Mary Schwindt of Marco Island, Florida, and Max Schwindt of Connecticut; a sister-in-law, Norma Craigo Slack, West Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews, which would include local residents Doug and wife Jamie (Moner) Davis, West Lafayette, and Lynn and husband Lee Russell, Newcomerstown, and their children. To honor Jane's wishes, her remains have been cremated. Local memorial services will be held this Saturday, September 25, 2:00 p.m., at the West Lafayette United Methodist Church, 120 West Union Ave., West Lafayette. Rev. Sue Chidley and Rev. Donald Silverthorne will conduct the services.
