Terri, Thanks for checking those archives. That matches the information I have also. Let me know if you get anything on the children at Hannah Neil's house. I will check with Metro this week. Have a great day every one! It has been a busy week and now the children are literally at my feet. Life! I did see your info. It is very sparse, nothing but dates. I see that your sister was adopted before you. I have heard there are large reals of old files but have not had time to pursue it. I spoke with someone who has worked in records for 29 years. She does not remember everything but said in the past every so often she was required to purge the records. She had to archive them and send them off. She thought it was to the historical society but is not sure now. I will talk to the last supervisor of records next week fo hopefully more info. She said earlier in her career with FCCS she was would make dates and notes on cards when a child was moved, etc. Then when the child was adopted, a different color card was made and sent on. She does not know what happened to the other info. I am an organizer at heart. I wish they could pay me what I make now to just sort throught things, get them organized, and give a voice to everyone. What a dream. Do you think there are records of the children from Hannah Neil? They must be at the archives. I shall phone them as soon as I can. This has been such an emotional journey for me....to face how very disfunctional my family has been since the 1880's is tough. It makes me feel like I have been chosen to turn theis line around. Grandious? Maybe.
