Probably the best place to start is at the main branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library http://www.columbuslibrary.org/ About a year ago the library, which already had an excellent genealogy section, received the extensive genealogy collection from the State Library of Ohio when it closed the genealogy department. In addition, the Ohio Historical Society Archives/Library (the State Archives of Ohio) http://www.ohiohistory.org/resource/archlib/ holds actual records from the early years of Franklin and surrounding counties.
