The state has archived all death certificates issued from that date through 31 Dec 1953. You can now look the archived certificates up and copy them free by going to http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?datestamp=1197664071364 Click on Register to use Record Search. It may take a few days for the registration to go arrive, but it's worth the wait. Hopefully, someone will get those obits for you. Right now I'm unable to do it.
