Daniel George Perkins February 3, 2010 WEST LAFAYETTE: Daniel George Perkins, 80, of West Lafayette, Ohio, passed away at Coshocton Co. Memorial Hospital on Monday, February 1, 2010. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on March 12, 1929, the son of the late Noah T. and Mildred (Welling) Perkins. Mr. Perkins graduated from Adamsville High School and then entered the U.S. Army in World War ll, and then served during the Korean War. He was a guard during the Nuremburg Trials after World War ll, and participated in the Berlin Airlift. He was a member and Past Commander of VFW Posts 2040, and 1330, Military Order of the Cooties where he served as Chef Dagare', West Lafayette American Legion, and the AmVets Post 36. Mr. Perkins was employed at the former Pretty Products Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1991. On March 16, 1957, Dan married Patricia (Burgess) Perkins, to whom he has been married for 52 years. Also surviving are his two daughters, Sally (Larry) White of West Lafayette, Ohio, Molly Geer (Gary Smith) of Marysville, Ohio; grandchildren, Larry, Sarah, and Lisa White; great grandchildren, Lexy and Jesse White; sister, Eleanor (Peggy) Holmes of Coshocton; and aunt, Twila Welling of Coshocton. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Louise Perkins, and Marilyn Martin. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home, 186 Park Ave., Coshocton, Ohio, on Friday, February 5, 2010, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Sue Chidley officiating. Burial will follow in Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette, where the Coshocton Co. Veterans Council will conduct graveside military rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2010, and one hour prior to service on Friday.
