Clara was born August 5, 1916 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania to Luther Martin and Robertta Evelyn Charles. She was a 1934 graduate of Central High School in Columbus, Ohio; assistant to the Editor and Publisher of Hilltop Record in Columbus, Ohio; secretary and administration assistant to Pastor Irvin Lane at Burgess Ave. EUB/UM Church, while she was there she also served as Youth Director, church organist, church pianist, and choir director; the Coordinator of the Lay Witness Mission of the United Methodist Church for 17 years, covering several states; Coordinator of Music for UM Annual Conference at Lake Side and other related conference meetings for 10 years; assisted the pastor of Training Institute Central Ohio (State of Ohio Youth Commission); Surviving are son, Charles E. "Pete" (Marilyn) Trott of Sycamore, Illinois; grandchildren, Kara Jean (Randy) Trott-Gebhardt, Richard J. (Erin) Trott, Darla K. (Steve) Iannarino, Alex Trott, Charles R. Trott, Jeffrey (Donna) Trott, David (Myriam) Trott, Kristen (Bradley) Burns, and Andrew (Nancy) Trott; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert "Bob" Trott who passed away in 2004, son Richard W. Trott, four brothers; and two sisters. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Logan, Ohio with Rev. Brian Arnold officiating. Burial will be at the Knollwood Cemetery, Logan, Ohio. Calling hours will be observed Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at HEINLEIN-BROWN FUNERAL HOME.
