He is on the 1880 census. He came out, joined the Army, served 10 years, married, had 3 children and was a farmer all of his life. He was not feeble minded, so I am wondering if they just put orphans there when they had no other choice. His parents were from South Carolina and he had no family here or there. There is no way to find any of the records, there was a huge fire in 1881. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Check the county where he lived..there was usually record of what happened to orphans.  It was common to use these schools for orphans...or the child could have been so trautimized by events in his life, he seemed feeble minded. --- On Thu, 6/10/10, gc-gateway@rootsweb.com <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> wrote: From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [OHFRANKL] Ohio Institution for Feeble Minded To: OHFRANKL-L@rootsweb.com Date: Thursday, June 10, 2010, 11:35 PM This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
