    3. I am trying to track down a hunch of mine. In 1870, in Columbus, OH, two families are living in the same household: the first family is John Wiggins (28), wife Mary (22), son John (3), and daughter Kate (1). The other family is James Fielding (28), wife Kate (21), son John (1). Both wives are born in Ireland... John Wiggins is a brick moulder and James Fielding is a stone mason. My theory is the wives are the Maloney sisters.... The Maloney story is that late in the 1850's or early 1860's, the mom and sisters came to America following her husband who was waiting in NY... However, the mom died on the ship and was buried at sea. The girls were taken in by another family on the ship (Auntie Dee??). They looked for the father in NY for a period of time and could not locate him. They moved on to Columbus and Kate Maloney eventually married James Fielding. The Fielding Family is my line.. I followed the Wiggins family through the censuses to see if I could some way verify my information. In 1900, daughter Kate/Catherine Wiggins is listed as wife of Frank X Lane, their children, Harry B, Marie W, Neal R, and Frank, Jr. Also, there is a Frank S. Wiggins, listed as a brother-in-law to Frank X Lane, making him Kate's brother. I found a listing for the 1890 City Directory for Columbus. There is a Frank Lane who is driving (wagon) for the Fielding family's grocery store on 1st Street. (This is for Frances Lane, *angela822@juno.com - no longer working* who posted some info on the Lane Mailing List.) And when I located them in 1920, they do show that Frank Lane, 4, grandson is living with them, verifying your story that was posted on Ancestry.com LANE message board back in 1999. Is anyone out there that is searching any of these lines??? Supposedly Frank X Lane was a boxer in Columbus, OH... I would love to be able to find Kate Maloney's sister... Caroline El Paso, TX
