I have a small snapshot of Heyl Ave School dated 1944. I have tried to get a pix of it on Franklin Co Property Maps, etc. but I couldn't. Fri I found a place to email an inquiry. I asked if Heyl Ave is still in existance-if so how could I get it's site. An few hours later Gary E. Woodward, Real Estate Division, Auditor's Office sent me the parcel number for Heyl Ave School. I put the numbers in and on it came! The plat pix then an actual pix of the school and all the rest. I was so thrilled! What I didn't know is that it is addressed on Reinhard Ave not Heyl. I went there part of my 1st grade then 3A through 5B. During the later time, we planted a tree on the left side of the main entrance. In the picture is what looks like a Birch Tree. I wonder if that's the tree we planted. I will never really know, but I will think it is.......about 60 years old! I've used this site many times, finding the home I was born in, the various houses we lived in, my grands on E Whittier, homes in German Village my families lived in, other relatives, 2 still living in their homes. I am fortunate my mother kept old mail and books with addresses on them Since I was so young when we left Columbus for the last time, these pictures prove my memories are accurate. I thank Mr. Woodward for taking the time to help me. Hope others will use this site to bring together 'memories' of their past accurately.
