More items from the Feb 25, 1919 OHIO STATE JOURNAL Page 9 Camp Sherman News Camp Sherman, Chillicothe, Feb. 24 -- That 53,474 soldiers have been dismissed from the service here since the last of November, 1918, was the statement today of officers of the transportation department of the cantonment. The records of the office show also that 100,000 soldiers were received, trained and then either sent overseas or transferred to other camps in this country. This includes the members of the Eighty-third and Eighty-fourth Divisions and of several miscellaneous organizations that were trained at Camp Sherman. Captain Tom W. JONES, soldier-legislator, member of the Thirty-seventh Division and of the Ohio legislature, was granted a 20-day leave of absence by order of General Glenn today.
