    3. Just for fun: We've all heard the saying that some fact is "etched in stone," and most of us have probably wished that our ancestors had left PROVABLE facts etched on their tombstones. Once in a while they did. You can see an example of that on the tombstone of Samuel Davis, buried at Dublin Cemetery (aka I.O.O.F. Cemetery). Even his wife's inscription gives more than the usual amount of information. And the wonderful thing is that these are contemporary inscriptions, done at the time of their deaths or soon after; they aren't on tombstones erected many years after their deaths by descendants who may or may not have the facts right.
