Nov 11, 1927 Columbus Citizen DRIVE RENEWED FOR CITY WATER Campaign Resumed After Two Children Die In South-Side Fire Residents in Marion tp, south of the Columbus city limits, Friday were preparing a new campaign to get water and sewer lines for their district. As campaign material they are pointing to the tragic death of two small children of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin SWEAZY, Dexter rd, who burned to death in a blazing home when firemen, with no water available were powerless to aid. The children were Norma Jean SWEAZY, five months old, and Melvin SWEAZY Jr., 16 months. Gardeners Protest W.M. HILLMYER, manager of the Diem & Wing Paper Co., who lives in Terrace av, near Dexter rd, said he will renew the campaign for water lines and sewers, rejected by county commissioners for the last five years. M.K. BOWMAN, assistant county sanitary engineer, said that the protests of gardeners in the vicinity were sufficient to warrant rejection of property owners' petitions for water.
