She and I are definately cousins. When I was at the Nation Archives last time, I saw the Chapin surname amoung the Delaware County names listed as having served in the Civil War. Have you tried researching the military history of the family. Do you still have Ancestry.com? I would look there. I sent service records to Kathy a few months ago. Not much info in a service record. Pray for a pension record! You should also check for a widow's pension record. I found a wealth of info in Joseph Mullen and his wife's pension file. I am sure you would find your answers there. Let me know if you need any help. I am still digging for the Native American information. I have the names but finding them documented the way we need them to be is the hughest challenge. Thanks, Tina
