Hi, Here is the Obituary Search Form: http://www.columbuslibrary.org/cmlcnix/searchform.cfm 1. Type Surname or Given name & surname of person in ENTER SEARCH TERM: box at the top of the page. Be aware that in obits, names are often spelled differently than you're used to for any number of reasons, so don't skip over a name just because it's not what you're used to. 2. Skip down to "Sort by Date" and click Descending if your time frame is between 1997 and 1967, Ascending if your time frame is between 1937 and 1967. (I usually click Ascending and go all the way through - that way they're automatically in chronological order for my records.) 3. Then go back to the top of the page and click the GO button at the end of the Enter Search Term line. I hope this helps. Didn't work, no place for your step 2; link sent me back to exact same place as before; says nothing about dates and only has a blank area by CATALOGUE QUICK SEARCH. Sorry, this is really confusing to get into whrever they keep the obituaries. Do you have to be a paid member of the library or something (I'm not.) Sorry, don't understand this. Thank you for any assistance! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Holland" <mholland@cfl.rr.com> To: <OHFRANKL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 07, 2004 1:32 AM Subject: Re: [OHFranklin] Need Help step by step, please Re: Columbus Dispatch Newspaper Look-Up > Hi, > > Here is the Obituary Search Form: > > http://www.columbuslibrary.org/cmlcnix/searchform.cfm > > 1. Let's try another way, OK? Give me the names you are searching for and I'll get right back to you.
