I too would be interested in any information on St. Vincents Orphanage in Columbus. There is a little information available if you do a SEARCH for St. Vincent Orphanage (maybe narrow it to Columbus as there was another one named this in northern Ohio.) Some of the children were sent to Catholic priests through out Ohio to be raised. These were honorable men to whom the children were sent. Do you mind passing on to me whatever information you might receive? Picnics were held there in the 1950s and 60s and possibly later. I was a "clown" as a young youth there for 1 year at a picnic because some distant relatives were there about 1910-22 with the last names of GRIFFTON and GIBERSON. (Searching for any information on any children with these last names. One was adopted by a STARKEY family in or near Orient, OH; another was reared near Minerton, OH by a French Catholic priest named Vonville; one or more GIBERSON boy died there or at the hospital nearby. Somehow these people were related to a SCHERER who lived for a time in Toledo, OH) St. Vincent and the Orphan Ohio State Asylum for the Insane may somehow be related however, this I do not know. Maybe the Catholic Diocese of Columbus which years ago was at (and may still be here, I don't know) 197 E. Gay St., Columbus, OH 43215, 1-614-228-2453 might be able to help.adopted. Sorry, haven't lived in Ohio for many many years. Also, you may wish to try some type of a SEARCH for Adoption thru orphanage as many of those children were adopted out.
