Surnames: Wiley, Thomas Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/yYB.2ACI/15164 Message Board Post: He was a farmer and a native of PA and was one of the first immigrants to Franklin County, building what was reported to be the first house in what became the city I am searching for more information regarding my 3rd g-grandfather, Levi Wiley. of Columbus, Ohio. Levi married Elizabeth Legg on 3/4/1827 in Franklin County. Elizabeth was the daughter of Elijah Legg & Tabitha Hawley and was b 1769. Levi & Elizabeth had at least the following five children: John Wilson Wiley; b-1830, d-1891 (my 2nd g-grandfather) Rebecca Wiley; b-1832, d-? Lucinda Wiley; b-1834, d-1853 Tabitha Wiley; b-1838, d-? James Wiley; b-1841, d-? I would like to learn more about Levi’s parents, ancestors, and his children who were siblings of John Wilson Wiley. John Wilson Wiley left home as a young man and ended up in Sonoma County, California where he became a very successful farmer. I would also like to learn if there were any connections between Levi Wiley and other Wiley families living in Champaign County, Ohio in the early 1800’s; which is only a short distance to the West. The census records of 1830-1840 indicate there were several Wiley families in Champaign County, they were: John, Joseph, and William, all married with families. Another grandfather, Isaiah Thomas of Champaign County also migrated to Sonoma County, California in 1854 and was a close neighbor to John Wilson Wiley there. I have much information on these families, including pictures, which I would be happy to share. Bob Enloe Bend, Oregon
