Prices are included. Also, there is an E-mail address provided if additional information is needed. A one-hour research of the library sources at the Society can be requested. If anyone is interested in finding out what kinds of information are available at the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus go to their web site: http://www.ohiohistory.org. Click Resources, Archives Library and then on-line catalog. Type in Franklin County under subject. There are researchers who will examine these sources for you for a fee. If you examine the sources and determine exactly which ones might be valuable, a researcher can be hired to examine just those sources, to save money. A list of researchers is available under Resources. The library has the original marriage records, wills, naturalization records and much more for the county. Index to the death certificates for Ohio: 1913-1939 is on-line at this site. It is a very valuable resource. If a death certificate is located you can request a copy (needed info: name, county, YEAR and CERTIFICATE NUMBER, which are part of the index. Turnaround time is months because of staff cuts. One of the researchers can obtain a copy in far less time, for about the same cost. The Ohio Historical Society also has an excellent newspaper collection. Once an exact date of death is found, obituaries can be obtained. Note: In the 1800s the obits were virtually non-existent or one or two lines, unless the person was a prominent member of the community. Obituaries became more detailed in the 20th century. An index to some of the Death records at the Ohio Department of Health (20th century) is on-line on Ancestry.com or Ancestry.Plus if your library has it. Search all databases, Ohio.
