I found this in the 1930 US Census in Minneapolis, Minn: Weinmann, Frank B (head) Weinmann, Delia M (wife) Smith, Louise W (daughter) Smith, Jerome F (grandson) Smith, Charles R (grandson) That Jerome was 15 at the time of the census, which would be about right, and given the fact that he's living with Weinmanns, I'm betting that's the one you're looking for. Unfortunately, I didn't see anyone with the same birthdate in the Minnesota Death Index (1908-2002) that Ancestry has. I'm not familiar with the resource so I don't know how complete it would be, but you might check on a Minneapolis (Hennepin County) board and they might be able to help from here. I did see a Jerome F. Smith in the Ohio Death Index that died Dec 15, 1972 at the age of 58, which would put his birth in 1914. Volume 21115, Certificate 094538. Died in Worthington, Franklin County, Ohio. If you have good reason to believe he came from Ohio, that might be your guy. The index doesn't have any more information other than he was white and married. Oh, and guess what. If it's the same guy, this one has an obituary in the Columbus Dispatch, 12/17/1972, page 28B! I do regular obituary look-ups every Wednesday night at the Columbus library. I'll look this up for you on Wednesday unless someone else gets to it first. Hopefully that will be your guy!
