Hi! Last year I conducted some research for one of my clients on the Grooms family. Tabitha Wiley b. about 1837 in Ohio, died abt. 1899 in Franklin Co., Ohio. She married Charles Grooms 16 April 1857 in Franklin County. Both Tabitha Wiley and Charles are buried in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Franklin Co., Ohio. Their children were William, Eliza, James E., Mary E, Alice and Phebe Grooms. Charles and Tabitha appear with their family in the 1860 census, Prairie Townwship. They are in the 1870 census in Brown Township, p. 32, Franklin Co. Charles and Tabitha are listed in the cemetery records published by the Franklin Co., Genealogical Society, Vol. 8, Norwich Township, p. 11. Charles' parents may be Harmon and Bertha Grooms, not fully proven. There may be other Wileys in the same cemetery. John Wilson Wiley left home as a young man and ended up in Sonoma County, California where he became a very successful farmer. > I would also like to learn if there were any connections between Levi Wiley and other Wiley families living in Champaign County, Ohio in the early 1800’s; which is only a short distance to the West. The census records of 1830-1840 indicate there were several Wiley families in Champaign County, they were: John, Joseph, and William, all married with families. > Another grandfather, Isaiah Thomas of Champaign County also migrated to Sonoma County, California in 1854 and was a close neighbor to John Wilson Wiley there. > > I have much information on these families, including pictures, which I would be happy to share. > > Bob Enloe > Bend, Oregon > > > > > ==== OHFRANKL Mailing List ==== > Franklin County, Ohio OHGenWeb > http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohfrankl/ >
