Hi Bob, I have the Franklin Co., Ohio Death Index 1867-1908 and the Franklin Co., Ohio Death Records (one long line covering two pages, not a certificate) 1867-1908 on indefinite loan at the local Family History Center. Will try to check them for you tomorrow. Linda Bob Quinn writes: > I need death certs for my great grandparents. They died in Columbus and are buried in Greenlawn Cemetery. Linda Could you also check for Martin VB Carson and Ann/Annie Carson while you are checking for Bob. Martin Carson was still living 1891-1892 in Columbus, Ohio b. abt 1838. Annie b. abt 1846. Thanks Sue
Hi Bob, Your Quinns were fairly easy. All of the surnames starting with the letter "Q" and having "u" as the first vowel fit on one page! The following are the Quinns in the index - FHL film # 0285204 Franklin Co., Ohio Death index 1867-1899: 1867 Quinn, Mary Vol. 1, p. 1 1870 Quinn, ?Sturges? S. 1, 31 1871 Quinn, Eliza 1, 44 1877 Quinn, Samuel A. 1, 109 1878 Quinn, John 1, 128 1879 Quinn, H. S. 1, 136 1887 Quinn, Daniel 2, 188 1890 Quinn, Edward 3, 58 1890 Quinn, Mary A. 3, 58 1890 Quinn, Joseph E. 3, 66 1890 Quinn, Peter 3, 66 1892 Quinn, John 3, 154 1893 Quinn, John 3, 214 1894 Quinn, Patrick 3, 228 1895 Quinn, David 3, 246 1895 Quinn, John 3, 262 1895 Quinn, Matilda 3, 262 1898 Quinn, Thomas 4, 112 1898 Quinn, Mary 4, 124 The index for the years 1899-1908 is in a separate volume on a different roll of film and I did not look at it for Quinn. The "John" Quinn, died 1895 in Vol. 3 on p. 262, appears to be your "Joseph" FHL film # 0285207 - Franklin Co., Ohio Death records Vol. 3, 1889-1896 p. 262 - 8th Ward # 601 Quinn, John; Male, Death date 1895 Mch 12, Condition Single, Age 82y __m __d, Died at 40 N. 22nd, Born Ohio, Occupation Contractor, Father's name left blank, Mother's maiden name left blank, Cause of death Paulsey, Residence 40 N. 22nd # 602 Quinn, Matilda; Female, Death date 1895 Feb 9, Condition Married, Age 74y __m __d, Died at 40 N. 22nd, Born in New York, Occupation blank, Father's name blank, Mother's maiden name blank, Cause of death Old age, Residence 40 N. 22nd. These two pages on the microfilm were quite dark in some areas. I tried two different settings of the photocopier on both pages but it didn;t make much difference. The Family History Center charges $0.25 per page for photocopies from microfilm, so the total expense was $1.00. Will try to look up the other John Quinns next week. Linda You are one of the nicest people I know. I can not thank you enough for your efforts. I have suspected that there was a mixup re: John the father and Joseph the son. This makes it clear with no solution in sight. John and Mary, the parents of Joseph, are an ignema to me. Neither my father nor my grandmother (the wife of Joseph's son Joseph) EVER mentioned John and Mary. It is as if their world stopped at Joseph and Matilda, they did not even mention the three brothers of young Joseph (or Joseph Jr. as I call him altho he is not a junior). Your input has helped and compounded my problem but that is the nature of this avocation. I will need a mailing address when you have finished your efforts so I can reimburse you. In the mean time, thank you.
