Hello Sallie; If you have gen. books that you have bought and used and need no more and want to sell them, do you mean that we should then give these books back to the writer; or a surname member of the surname of the book????? Sometimes if not wanted they would be nice in your local Gen. Library or LDS lib, rather than throwing away . I would think if you didn't sell it after your use is not needed anymore , as the cost of Gen. books and materials have climbed ridiculously high then your throwing away money you could further use for research.. Several reprint books I bought both for abt 60.00 in 1988 are now 1 of them selling for 175.00 the other for over 100.00. They were originally printed in 1881 and 1889 and writer has long since passed on. I bought them from a reprint place, of old out of printing, place in Md. in 1988. I have many other's of gen. info and surname books I have got from sales of Library's and Yard sales and bought with some of my own family in them and vitals and State/County books etc. Are you saying we should find a previous owner of a surname person that is in the book and give it to them??? I should think that we should if possible, try to recoup some of our funds we spent so we could carry on with our Genealogy research.
