Harry Rauls b. 05/14/1896, d. Columbus, OH 05/16/1968. The SS death index shows b. 1895. On his SS application Jackson Harry Rauls lists his father's name as Melvin Rauls, mother's name unknown. The death certificate and burial information give his father's name as John and his mother as Ida. Both documents show the place of birth as Savannah, GA. The death certificate shows a wife, Ollie Watenpul Rauls. The burial record (Union Cemetery) shows a daughter, Jean Overturf. The SS# on the death certificate matches the one applied fro 11/13/52, so I am making a leap of faith that they are the same person.) So far as I can tell, Jackson Harry Rauls is my husband's grandfather and who had been married to (as far as we know was still married to) Isabelle (d. 1976), and who had raised a family in Eau Claire, WI. By 1952 he had left Isabelle and Eau Claire. Harry and Isabellehad two daughers, both were grown and married by 1952. Anyway, if anyone knows of this family and could shed some light on this, I would really appreciate it. Harry and Ollie (d. 1981) are buried next to each other in unmarked graves at Union Cemetery in Columbus.
