    2. Citizen Journal would probably be your best bet. In a message dated 4/7/2010 4:33:39 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, jrrader@kent.edu writes: Hi everyone, What other papers might there have been in the immediate Columbus area in 1915 besides the Columbus (Evening) Dispatch? I'm asking because there is nothing but a tiny, tiny death notice for my great-great-great-uncle in the Dispatch, which I general would expect. However, I have a physical copy of two separate, larger obits, both with photos, clipped directly from newspapers. Unfortunately, whoever clipped them out neglected to give me any source material. He lived and worked in Columbus, so I'd think it would have been an area paper. The clippings were handed down through his closest brother, and I see no reason why these would be from the towns his brother or nieces lived in because no one would know him there. Any information is appreciated! Thanks, Jan Kent, Ohio

    3. You might try the Ohio State Journal. I've had some success with it, although not found everything I've looked for. Also, sometimes the article will run in one daily edition of the paper, but not the other, and they don't necessarily microfilm both editions. I've had the same problem. I have a copy of my grandmother's wedding announcement, with a photo, from 1907, but it's in bad shape and I've tried in vain to find the original in a Columbus newspaper. Good luck. 3. Jan - The building is on Alum Creek Drive in Columbus, and I believe it is still in use, although not as a TB Sanitarium. My great great grandmother spent the last two years of her life there, as well. If you do a Google Book search for "Franklin County Tuberculosis Hospital", you can even see a sketch and floor plan of the building. I don't know much more about the place, though. One of my great aunts recalls visiting her grandmother there, and talking through a glass wall to her. Kind of sad :( Hope that is at least some help, Best, Amy On Tue, Apr 6, 2010 at 10:54 AM, RADER, JAN <jrrader@kent.edu> wrote: > Hi everyone, > Does anyone know anything about the history and location of the TB > Sanitorium? I found the obit of my second cousin, twice removed (name was Pearl Patterson), and found that she died there in 1920. So I'm kind of interested in where she spent her last days (or longer). I have found him in the 1880 census Name: Henry Evans Home in 1880: Hanover, Licking, Ohio Age: 35 Estimated birth year: abt 1845 Birthplace: Virginia And in 1900 and 1910, he probably died between 1910 and 1920 still in Ohio. Anyone know of his parents or his wife's maiden name?? Also in the 1900 and 1910 census they list him and his wife Sarah as having 6 children but only 2 living. I have names for 3, Stanley and Carroll are the living children, Hurbert must have died and the other 3 never made it to a census. Do they have names? 2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Robert MCELWEE which was taken at the Baker Studio in Columbus, Ohio. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's with Robert likely in his 30's or 40's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Robert and his family: Robert Henry MCELWEE was b. 2 Feb 1856 Harlem, OH to parents John H. MCELWEE (b. 1818 in Frederick Co. VA) and Catherine A. ORNDORFF (b. Dec 1820 in Frederick Co. VA).
