I just wanted to let everyone know that I have uploaded a complete photographic inventory of Burnside Cemetery (AKA Smith's Burying Ground; AKA Pioneer Cemetery) in Plain Township. Also, Shelley May, of the Franklin County Auditor's Office and coordinator of Operation Flag, sent a list of all veterans buried at Amaranth Abby. You can find the links to Burnside Cemetery (today), the Amaranth Abby list (April 9), and to all the photos that have been uploaded for the past ninety days (573 photos in April) at: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~rocky/Franklin_Cemeteries/whatsnew.htm For those who are still waiting for us to fill requests--we haven't forgotten you and we will get to all of them. Does anyone have any knowledge of the Arco Linoleum company that purchased 492 S. High Street, Columbus? My Dad is 89 years old and remembers that Arco bought the Hoffmann homestead at 492 S. High St. I am trying to find information on this. Thanks for your help, Linda
Hi Joyce, I am wondering if you might post the address to your website, and are the stories available to everyone for viewing? Thanks again for the stories. Tina Stewart-Levitt

Sallie: I cannot pull up a picture of North High School in Columbus. I was wondering can you give us the e-mail address that you used to reach Gary E. Woodward. I have located just about everything that had to do with my early life including our first house we bought when we got married in 1959. The memories are so wonderful. Thanks. I enjoy transcribing the newspapers. I happened upon a couple actual newspapers at an antique store and I couldn't resist. My husband's immediate Fullen relatives are mainly from the Lockbourne area and just south of German Village. I have a small snapshot of Heyl Ave School dated 1944. I have tried to get a pix of it on Franklin Co Property Maps, etc. but I couldn't. Fri I found a place to email an inquiry. I asked if Heyl Ave is still in existance-if so how could I get it's site. An few hours later Gary E. Woodward, Real Estate Division, Auditor's Office sent me the parcel number for Heyl Ave School. I put the numbers in and on it came! The plat pix then an actual pix of the school and all the rest. I was so thrilled! What I didn't know is that it is addressed on Reinhard Ave not Heyl. I went there part of my 1st grade then 3A through 5B. During the later time, we planted a tree on the left side of the main entrance. In the picture is what looks like a Birch Tree. I wonder if that's the tree we planted. I will never really know, but I will think it is.......about 60 years old! I've used this site many times, finding the home I was born in, the various houses we lived in, my grands on E Whittier, homes in German Village my families lived in, other relatives, 2 still living in their homes. I am fortunate my mother kept old mail and books with addresses on them Since I was so young when we left Columbus for the last time, these pictures prove my memories are accurate. I thank Mr. Woodward for taking the time to help me. Hope others will use this site to bring together 'memories' of their past accurately. Thank you for these articles from the early 1900s. It is really nice that you do this. If you might think that your work is not appreciated that is not true, it is! Thank you again :) Curiousity: is the Fullen name from Clintonville and IC on E. N. Broadway? Again, thank you for the interesting bits of Columbus history (and genealogical info for some.)

Hi list, Here is a long shot at finding a lost relative. I am searching for a boy who was nicknamed "Buzzy". Buzzy was born about 1937 - 39 probably in Ohio. His father is unknown and his mother was Pauline Weikal. He lived in California with his mother until 1943 and was then sent to live with his paternal grandparents somewhere in Ohio. I know that this is a long shot but would appreciate any assistance in locating Buzzy. He has two brothers and two sisters who would love to connect with him. Thanks in advance, Bert Rivard El Paso, TX
