    1. Organized Womens Groups in Delaware Late 1800's?
    2. Does anyone know if there was an organized group of "Suffragettes" or Womens Right To Vote, in the late 1800s in Columbus? My husbands gggrandmother ran a boarding house in Delaware, and I am able to place her there until January of 1898. I finally put her name in for a census search for anywhere, and I came up with a perfect match in Washinton, D.C., for the 1900 census. Now I thought, what on earth would take her to Washington after living here in Ohio all those years, and the women's movement is what I came up with. Her name was Fannie Ely and she was 62 at that time. Mind you, I am playing detective and this is sheer speculation, but would appreciate it if anyone could shed any light on the subject, as I am trying to figure out when and where she died, and where she is buried. She was widowed at age 25, and never remarried, and her husband, Dr. David Ely is buried in GreenLawn Cemetery in Columbus. Thank you, Margaret Ely

    3. Hi, Can someone point me in the right direction. I need to get some birth records from the 1800's and 1900's of people born in Columbus Ohio. I am sure that there must be some place that I could find them. Have been trying for the last year to tie in my Ohio branch. Any ideas? Thanks, Dottie

    3. Hi, Here is the Obituary Search Form: http://www.columbuslibrary.org/cmlcnix/searchform.cfm 1. Type Surname or Given name & surname of person in ENTER SEARCH TERM: box at the top of the page. Be aware that in obits, names are often spelled differently than you're used to for any number of reasons, so don't skip over a name just because it's not what you're used to. 2. Skip down to "Sort by Date" and click Descending if your time frame is between 1997 and 1967, Ascending if your time frame is between 1937 and 1967. (I usually click Ascending and go all the way through - that way they're automatically in chronological order for my records.) 3. Then go back to the top of the page and click the GO button at the end of the Enter Search Term line. I hope this helps.
