    3. Can someone help with the names of the railroads associated with the acronyms in bold. I am particularly interested in any connection of these railroads and shops with the Pennsylvania Railroad. Also the term Stationary Engineer in the context of 187o and railroading. I know what it means to day, but did it describe anyone in the crew of steam locomotive. Or was it from the beginning used to distinguish an engineer who could operate a locomotive from he adjusted water levels and fire in a boiler say of a hospital or a power plant? Samuel H. Mateer was remembered by one of grand children as having worked on the Portage RR - which for a few years in the 1840's lifted rail/barge cars over the Alleghenies and lowered them down again on inclines powered with steam engines. Samuel was to young too have had much responsibility but he apparently became enamored of the cho-cho chug and worked the rails for most of his life. 3. Good Evening list members, I am trying to get copies of the obits of some of our extended family. PA libraries no longer do out-of-state requests for their members due to the state budget cutback. I have three obits that I am looking for are from the Columbus Dispatch. 1- John E. Shillito, 12 Nov 1939; p.8A 2- Mary Shillito, 12 Apr 1941; p.2A 3- Kenneth P. Babbs; 30 May 1970; p.11 If there is someone who would be able to go to the Columbus Memorial Library and get copies of these obits I would be very appreciative. Please contact me privately at rmspas@epix.net Thank you in advance, Pat in PA

The marriage should have taken place around 1913-1915. I have them on one census 1920. This census shows them with two children born 1916 & 1918 so that is why I have put the date as 1913-1915 for the marriage. They are living in the COLUMBUS OHIO area of FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP so assume that would be where they married. Thanks for your help. P.J.
