There was a home which we knew of as the rescue home and it was for unwed mothers.I remember it set at the end of a street across a crick and about a half block or more into some woods. If I remember correctly it was located on North Chase Avenue on the west part of Columbus known as the hilltop.Chase ran off of W. Broad Street (Route 40).I believe the building is still there but does not serve the same purpose. Bob

    3. Let's keep in touch my address is tkfarrowwelker@wowway.com My grnadmother, now deceased, had her first child in the Freind's rescue home circa 1932. She was fifteen and unknown. The father is listed as unknown. I will look up what I can but my grandmother lived her entire life in what is considered the Short North area of Columbus, Fifth and High, Summit St. etc. There was also a Friend's church on Fourth. This will be interesting I just hadn't taken the time to pursue this before. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/yYB.2ACI/15072 Message Board Post: I am searching for any information on Rosa Jane Young Case. I do know that she was married to Dr. Fred L. Case and they lived in Columbus. I found an old clipping from her brother, John, that stated Rosa had died some twenty years earlier, which, this was is 1931. So Rosa must have died around 1910 or 1911. Would love to know her death date, where she is buried and an obit, if possible. I do know that Dr. Fred L. Case was listed in the 1920 census as a widow, 57 years old and born in Ohio. When Rosa was a young girl, she was sent to Ohio to be raised by her Aunt Barbara Young, this was around 1881 and we haven't been able to find her until now. Both of her parents were dead. She was born in MO. Hope somebody out there can help me. Her younger sister Minnie was also sent to Ohio. Minnie married a ? Whitney. We don't know what happened to her either.

    3. Hi! The birth records for that year and previous years (1868-1907) are on microfiche at the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus, Ohio. However, many births were omitted from the records, as the laws requiring reporting of births were not enforced.
