Leona, Will we/should we update the Green Lawn Pages with this new URL? I'm so excited! I just added a search engine to the Franklin County Gravestone Photos &Etc main page and the alphabetical list page. Please, try it out, but keep in mind, that my pages do not include all the interments in every Franklin County Cemetery. In July I uploaded more than a thousand gravestone photographs. I also added a couple of chapters to the Franklin County History and I've just gotten a start on the new Ohio American Local History Network (ALHN) site and the Franklin County ALHN site (they have no search engine yet). You can find most of the changes that I've made to my pages by clicking on the "What's New" link on the main page. I hope that you will all visit the new sites and contribute what you can. If you're interested in adopting one of the Ohio Counties in the ALHN, please, let me know. The links to the new sites are in my "signature" below. Happy hunting! Leona L. Thanks for doing this Leona. I was able to find a photo of the grave of my 5th great grandfather, so I am just thrilled! What a treasure, and thanks so much to the photographer. According to the Franklin County History, Caldwell, "Enoch Henry made a clearing early on the Delano Tract". Does anyone know where the "Delano Tract" would have been about 1806?
My GGGrandfather's death certificate says he died in Franklin Township, Franklin County, Ohio and was buried at "Memorial Burial Park". He died in 1929. Does anyone know where this cemetery is located or if the name is the same? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a copy of his death registration but don't know where to go to get an obit sent to me. Thanks for any help anyone can give.
The death certificates for the year 1895 are really death records, one line listings kept by the probate courts in each county in Ohio. The more extensive death certificates became available when the State Department of Health, Department of Health, assumed the task of compiling Birth and Death Records. The marriage records are still available in each county in the Probate Courts. The one line death records do contain information such as the death and place of death and the date and place of birth, along with the cause of death. There is a place for the parents' names, but in many cases this was not included. These death records for Franklin Co. are available at the Ohio Historical Society. The death certificates for all the counties in Ohio are on microfilm at the Ohio Historical Society, 1907-8 to 1944. After that date they can be found at the State Department of Health. The Ohio Historical Society also has a tremendous newspaper collection, where obituaries can be accessed. Donna M. Hello, I had an uncle in prison. He died after learning of his sisters death in the newspaper back in 1970. Are they any ways to locate his records? It was the Chillicothe Correctional Inst. Tina
Why don't you order them from the Ohio Dept of Health? http://www.odh.state.oh.us/index.asp They have a form you can fill out and send in. -----Original Message----- From: Bob Quinn [mailto:nabob@jps.net] Sent: Friday, July 30, 2004 11:05 PM To: OHFRANKL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [OHFranklin] death certs I need death certs for my great grandparents. You should get 9 hits for him in World Family Tree, and a couple more home pages. The Family trees were all submitted by the same person(s) and there is not much difference between them, but as I recall some of the notes were removed on the later ones. (perhaps because they were not certain of their accuracy) Unfortunately, these are only available by subscription ($10.00 for a month, or $50.00 for a year.) I think you can also download a free viewer if you don't use FamilyTreeMaker software. You can also go to the home pages for free. This is the same couple that submitted those trees, and there is an e-mail link for them. According to their notes, Alsines had 20 children between his three wives. The names of some of these children are not known, and I believe that my ancester Sylvester CLARK is a younger brother of Lorinda CLARK (daughter of Alcines and Cynthia COLE) I base this belief because of similar naming patterns between the two families, and the fact that they seemed to follow each other across the country, from Ohio to Illinois, to Kansas, and to Oklahoma. I'm almost positive they are related somehow, but I still need to prove it. I don't know much more about Alcines other than what I have read in those notes, but according to them he may have still been living in 1880 Kansas. So, if you happen to run across a Sylvester Clark (or his son Sylvester A. Clark) in any of your travels, I would sure appreciate it if you dropped me a line. DuaneRysh@compuserve.com

Karin, Go to the Columbus Dispatch website, click on Ask a Librarian and ask them to email it to you. You will have to give them the name, date it was in the paper and the page #. They will have it to you in 24 hrs.
