Children who have been removed from the home situation, abandoned, orphaned, fostered out or even sent to institutions leave a paper trail through the court system. I have found the answers that way, including all the guardians, results of the court hearing, etc. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. He didn't know my Grandma was going to have another child. He didn't know my Mother was born until she was 9 months old and then he threatened to put Mom there. I have this in my Grandma's handwriting and she hid her for awhile. He took off and no one in the family seems to know where he went. I have him dead in Denver but of course I can't prove that. The youngest sister's adoption papers have her down as abanded. Thelma [email protected] Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The papers say that the children "were received here on application of Judge Black. October 31, 1912." Does anyone know if I can find out why the children were sent there (they were not orphaned)? Could I get a copy of this "application"? Any help appreciated. Thank you in advance! Aubrey Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The farm was built in 1864 and was built by the Robey/Roby family. We have a photograph of Lois Robey, who we are told is the original owner. We have been told that she lived here and had 3 children- 1 son who committed suicide on the property and 2 daughters. l haven't been able to find any information about this farm or family. We are restoring the farm to it's original condition and l would love to learn the family history so that it can be preserved with the house. If anyone has any information that could help us find out more about Lois and her family l would be very greatfull! Thank you.
