Larry, I cannot help you directly with George and Annie but can give you a bit of background on the area. Where they lived is now called The Short North. My aunt was born on the same street a few years later; she and my dad grew up nearby. In March 1913 (I think I recall correctly), a great flood devastated a large part of central Ohio, including this area. Perhaps they left the area or this particular part of Columbus at this time? Just an idea. Good luck in your search. Maureen Dublin, Ohio
I am sorry - I meant to say "descendants" of the above family. Elsie
I would like to locate an ancestor of the Lindsay & Elizabeth (Codner) Fierrell family who lived and died in the Groveport, OH area for genealogical purposes. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Elsie Rarey

Hello - Orient and the old Mental Hospital are two different places. The burial grounds for the old Mental Hospital are off West Broad St on the Hilltop. I could find the precise location for you if you like. Orient is south of Columbus. John Gray, Grove City, OH At 09:28 PM 2/28/2008, you wrote: >Is there anyone familiar with this Institution. Good morning, Looking for the date of the marriage of: Charles W Perry & Ina M Warren. My best guess would be sometime after 1905. Thank you! Linda
See http://www.genealogybug.net/ohio_alhn/institutions.htm (The Institution for the Feebleminded is linked from the bottom of the left-hand column) The Columbus institution remains, but is now called the Columbus Development Center and has "new" buildings. The cemetery is still there--hopefully, we'll finish photographing it this year. Leona *************** From: "Ryan Hawk" <[email protected]> > Is there anyone familiar with this Institution. They were two separate places, both are closed. Larry In a message dated 2/28/2008 9:29:12 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Is there anyone familiar with this Institution. Is there anyone familiar with this Institution. I found a death certificate for a cousin who died at this place on my mom's side of the family in 1911. Her death certificate states she died in Columbus and is buried on the Institution Grounds. I have another cousin on my dad's side who died in 1932 and her death certificate states she died at the Institution for Feeble Minded in Orient Village, Scioto Twp, Pickaway County, Ohio. Is there a difference between the two places or did one move at one time.
