My question has to do with were I can access or request what indiana used to call "bastardy proceedings" as Lois Virginia Batson did not marry Seth's father and he has not been identified in any of the records I possess. George is identified as a Machinest with Jeffery's Manufacturing. Also indicated is that Annie had 2 children but neither was presently alive. This couple had married in December 1897 in South Milwaukee WI and can be found in the 1900 South Milwaukee census. They next appear in the above 1910 census and of course, have gone missing since. Both were born in Canada Do any list members have knowledge of the above family, or encountered them in their research? Any assistance would be appreciated. 3. Larry, This is what I found in the city directories today at the library: Since you found George in the 1910 census, I began with the 1911 directory (which actually covers the year 1910). He was listed as PHILLIPPO, George F, mach, h 76 W. 1st Avenue (the info you had for him from the census). In 1913 he is listed as PHILLIPPS, George F, mach, h 80 W. 1st Ave 1914-17, He's back to PHILLIPPO. In 1916-19 his address is 1474 Summit Street (just up the road from Jeffrey Manufacturing). His name returns to PHILLIPS in 1918. The next directory they had was 1924 and I could not find him. I hope this gives you something to go with. A lot of History and the guy used to live close to my area ! That girl should of sent you the Bible free of charge. In a message dated 3/2/2008 5:04:09 PM Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: You are never going to believe this. I got this on George Peters today from you, and one hour later I got the very same thing from a Rarey Descendant in Edmonton, Canada. I had obits on both he and his wife, but I didn't have this one. One of their Bibles is out there somewhere, some girl had it, was going to sell it for $35,000 -- yeah, I bet she didn't -- she promised to copy pages and send them to me after I told her who they were, etc., but as usual she never did --- and I gave up asking. **************Ideas to please picky eaters. 3. Hi Elsie - that is totally amazing! Who would think that we have a RAREY relative here in Edmonton - who are they and where to they live? I'd love to connect with them sometime! Are they related to the RAREY branch that was living down in southern Alberta a few years ago. That old cliche about it being a small world is really quite true, isn't it? Too bad the Bible information didn't come back to you.... I can't help but wonder who would buy it for that much money -- unless they were family, and then you think they would share the info! A couple of years ago, I contacted the Schoedinger Funeral Home for some info on the McCune's, etc.... and one of the now-owners replied saying that there were family connections between his family and the Rareys, but he didn't provide details. He also said that they had written a family history to celebrate their 100 years in business (if I remember the details correctly) ... and he had a staff member send me the McCune info I was looking for. Have you ever seen the Schoedinger book? Cheers, Kaye -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of Elsie rarey Sent: March 2, 2008 3:03 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [OHFRANKL] George S Peters, 1928 You are never going to believe this.
