She married Matthew J. Weber in 1890. Her children were Thelma, Sylvia, and James. At least some of her siblings were Rose Smith, Margaret Dollard, and a Mrs. M. R. Franklin. Her death certificate indicates her parents were Thomas Manning and Bridget Finnegan. I have much infomration on the Weber line, but little else on the Mannings. I have notes somewhere about Gideon and Irene. Gideon Scoby served 3 years and 3 months as a private in Company H of the 95th Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. He and Hannah Landon, Irene Scoby's Mother, are listed in the same dwelling on the June, 1890 Special Schedule for the Village of Morral Surviving Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines, and Widows, etc. census page. OH lists Sally (Sarah) Scoby as 33, but I believe her to be 43 based on the children's ages and her age listed in the next census. Her children are listed as Alfred 18, Nancy 15, Gideon 13, Henry 10, Christen (actually Clinton) 8, Mary 6, Harriett 5, Josephine 1. No husband is listed. The 1860 census for Franklin Co. OH lists Sarah Scoby 1808, Gideon 1837, Hury (Henry) 1840, Clinton 1842, Mary 1844, Hariett 1846, Josephine 1849. Clinton enlisted in the Union forces from Indiana. I've got a note in my file that Henry moved to Nevada by 1870, but I didn't write where I got that information. Also, another researcher told me that Clinton's father was Charles Scoby, but the e-mail with that is buried in my disorganized files somewhere and I didn't type the source into my database. Hope that helps! I let my paid subscriptions to the genealogy websites lapse a few years ago. Please let me know if you are able to come up with anything else about this Scoby family. Irene and Gideon have cemetery markers in the Brush Ridge (Grand Prairie) Cemetery, Lot 12, Sec. 7, plot 2 or 3 (not clear from card which it is), Marion County, Ohio. I don't know much else about Gideon Scoby, except that I am pretty sure he served in the Civil War. Do you know if Gideon and Clinton are related? I have a Hannah Strickland in my line, she was born in Ohio, about 1857 and died in 1921 in Illinois. She married Michael Frazelle who died in the Civil War and she then married Ben Merrifield.
