    1. [OHFRANKL] Fwd: [ALL] PA Death Certificates On-Line......very important, please read
    2. Hello Folks, I thought I would forward this to everybody, its about putting Pennsylvania death certificates online, and I do know we mostly have roots in Pennsylvania. jamie -----Original Message----- From: Al Lenkner <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thu, 8 May 2008 5:44 pm Subject: [ALL] PA Death Certificates On-Line All those who would like to see the older Pennsylvania death certificates go on-line, don't raise your hand. Instead, go to http://users.rcn.com/timarg/PaHR-Access.htm This not only drags PA into the 21st century but will also save you a few bucks when you need information on a death certificate. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Visit our Allegheny County, PA Website: http://www.rootsweb.com/~paallegh/ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. I do subscribe to the individual mailing list mode. If I were receiving the digest mode I and there were many messages in the email I wanted to reply to, I wouldn't reply to everyone in the same email. I would break it up so to make it personal for that person and not have to worry about another person having to sort out what parts of the email belong to them and which don't. In any sense though, the subject line if it just says Digest Mode then it does not reflect the content of your email. If someone wants an obit lookup and another information on a street history then how does digest mode in the subject line mean that email is for that person who had a question about an obit or the person who had the question about the street. I guess I am just old fashion in that I like it seem when I am replying to a person that I care about what they want. I am sorry for this. It is something I need to break myself of. Jeanne Mower <[email protected]> wrote: I see what you mean now, Amber. I'm sorry that I didn't understand what you were talking about. I agree....I get so much email....and I like to sort it first... but I don't know what I have received from the Franklin Digest List until I open it. But because it is a digest...it sometimes contains more than one message and it wouldn't be possible to put the subject line of each into the main one. So the alternative is to change your subscription to the individual (or whatever it's called) mailing list. I hope that made sense. 3. I absolutely agree with you, Amber! Unfortunately, not everyone thinks about changing subject lines. I can't begin tell you how many E-mails I never open because there is nothing in the subject line. My anti-virus program stops every message that has no subject and if I don't recognize the sender's E-mail address, I tell the anti-virus program to delete the "suspicious" message. Some times I get messages later asking me why I haven't responded to such and such E-mail -- and I've never actually received that person's message. 1. [OHFRANKL] Responses to Adoption queries
    2. Hello to all, There have been several people who have responded with suggestions to the adoption queries we have seen recently. Only one small problem. The queries were posted to Ancestry/Rootsweb's Franklin Co. message board and forwarded to the mailing list. The posters have not seen your wonderful suggestions because they are not members of the mailing list! To get your reply to them you have to click on the link to the message board that is provided in the email you receive. I have made the same mistake myself! We all get used to just clicking on the "Reply" in our email. Linda

    3. ----- Original Message ----- Subject: [OHFRANKL] Digest Mode emails >I delete all digest mode emails. They don't pertain to me as I have never >included a digest mode number when sending messages to the list. > ----------------------------------------------- Perhaps not all subscribers to the list understand what Digest Mode is. Digest mode combines several postings to the list that are sent together as a single large message. Subscribing to digest mode is one of the options everyone is given when they subscribe to any RootsWeb.Ancestry.com mailing list. This a particularly useful method for those who prefer not to receive numerous single messages from a busy mailing list, or for those subscribe to a large number of mailing lists. Even though a person subscribes to a mailing list in "regular" mode the responses sent by subscribers to the digest mode may contain the information that could knock down a genealogical brick wall. When you delete the digest mode responses unread you run the risk of not seeing a useful response. The digest mode number is a number assigned by the mailing list robot that automatically combines and sends the messages that are posted to the list. Leona

    3. It's just that when I send an email to the group I make the subject reflect what I am emailing about. Leaving the subject line as Digest Mode and a number means nothing to me. If someone wanted to reply to an email I sent then it would make sense to change the subject line to what I would notice such as changing the subject to what that person originally used. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
