    1. Re: Coles/Minnis
    2. William, I would be most happy to help you but my primary interest in Coles/Minnis is the Minnis. My Minnis have been very elusive. So far I know that Solomon Coles and Prudence Minnis were m in Fayette Co. OH in 1842. I did look in 1850 census of Fayette co to see if Solomon and Prudence were present in that census but they did not appear to be. I ran out of time but I need to ckeck the Index for Ohio and Indiana for 1850 for Solomon Coles. I do not know if they followed her family on to Indiana or not. I do not get to the library at Ft Wayne very often but sure try to get there at least monthly. If Solomon is possibley from the Virginia, West Virginia, Ky or tenn area. it is possible that they knew each other prior to their marriage in Fayette Co. Oh. My Minnis is from the Pendleton Co., Virginia(W. VA) area. But they have been so elusive that I come on them by accident. The parents of Prudence were in Clarke CO. OH and Greene Co., OH and in Tipton Co. In by 1850. They are missing after 1850 up to 1870 when they show up in Kosciusko CO. IN way up north in Indiana but then they disappear again. No grave sites for any of them. I hvae never found a grave site in Tipton Co. IN either and there could have been a grave site for a grandmother Minnis who was 80 plus years living in their household in 1850. Also sometime between 1850 and 1870 Prudence's mother possiblely dies but where? I am sorry but I have rambled on long enough.
