The information I have shows that John Bryant is the son of Benjamin Bryant and Susannah Harper Bryant. He married Mary Carder in 1847 in Ross Co. OH and then after her death in 1879 he married Susan Gilmore. I have the same census records in my file and have wondered too about the Daugherty connection. Sorry I can't solve this puzzle.
