Walalce and there are several Wallaces listed as making purchases at the Estate Sale. It is Probate File #1613 and if you are interested in more, contact me via e-mail.
Posted on: Fayette Co. Oh Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Fayette/89 Surname: ------------------------- Did some fast checking here at the archives and found absolutely nothing. However, my resident guru, Caroline Shaper, tells me that the Junk family is from Ross County. To look at a map, tho, will help clear it up for you. Find Washington CH on a Southern Oh map and find Austin, OH south of WCH. It is along Paint Creek and alongside the Creek, in Ross County, is where she tells me the old junk Homestead used to be. The Ross/Fayette Border runs right next to this homestead so it may be that your GGrandfather thought he was born in Fayette, when actually he was born in Ross. I would check there for any records. They are an older county (Part of Fayette came from Ross) and they may have mreo records for you to look at.
Posted on: Fayette Co. Oh Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Fayette/88 Surname: ------------------------- There ar ea number of Strope's that married here in Fayette County and there are a number of fichthorns that married here also, just can't find any where they married each other. I would recommend that you check with Ross County as that is where Chillicothe is. Also, Fayette County was part of Ross until 1810, when Fayette County was started. The Strope's I did find here were Ward, Sarah, Samantha, Anna, Cora Ellen, Elizabeth and Marvin. These were just marriages. Let me know if any of these pique your interest.

Posted on: Fayette Co. Oh Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Fayette/78 Surname: Junk, Motter, Holloway ------------------------- My great grandfather, Charles Henry JUNK stated in his Civil War pension record that he was born in Fayette county, near Chillicothe. He was born April 1, 1834. He came to Illinois in 1854 with a MOTTER wagon train. He apparently lost his parents and was raised as an orphan.Would anyone have any information of JUNK parents who died in Fayette county, just prior to his birth? What cemeteries would be close to this area? His first child died at the age of 1 year and was named Rufus -- could this have been a name from his parents family? Any help or suggestions would certainly be great. Thanks
