I found this cemetary not far from the truckstop. I searched every tombstone and alas, no Ida. I appreciate your responses and wish you luck with your searches. I think my Ida is actually buried in Dayton. So I'll search here. Thanks, Philisha Riddell philisha_riddell@yahoo.com

LOOKING FOR LAURA HARPER . USE TO LIVE IN COLUMBUS,OHIO IN 1975 AND WORKED FOR A DOCTOR
William, I would be most happy to help you but my primary interest in Coles/Minnis is the Minnis. My Minnis have been very elusive. So far I know that Solomon Coles and Prudence Minnis were m in Fayette Co. OH in 1842. I did look in 1850 census of Fayette co to see if Solomon and Prudence were present in that census but they did not appear to be. I ran out of time but I need to ckeck the Index for Ohio and Indiana for 1850 for Solomon Coles. I do not know if they followed her family on to Indiana or not. I do not get to the library at Ft Wayne very often but sure try to get there at least monthly. If Solomon is possibley from the Virginia, West Virginia, Ky or tenn area. it is possible that they knew each other prior to their marriage in Fayette Co. Oh. My Minnis is from the Pendleton Co., Virginia(W. VA) area. But they have been so elusive that I come on them by accident. The parents of Prudence were in Clarke CO. OH and Greene Co., OH and in Tipton Co. In by 1850. They are missing after 1850 up to 1870 when they show up in Kosciusko CO. IN way up north in Indiana but then they disappear again. No grave sites for any of them. I hvae never found a grave site in Tipton Co. IN either and there could have been a grave site for a grandmother Minnis who was 80 plus years living in their household in 1850. Also sometime between 1850 and 1870 Prudence's mother possiblely dies but where? I am sorry but I have rambled on long enough.
Shirley, so good to see your posting. I have seen this Solomon P. Coles and Prudence Minnis before. I think it is quite likely that Solomon P. Coles was a descendant of my Ohio Solomon Coles family. They branched out, and I have not collected all of the lines yet, but am well on the way to doing so. Can you work with me to establish a connection? Do you know if the "P" stands for Pearson or Pierson? I am researching all the lines descending from Daniel Coles and wife, Dinah Boone, first cousin to Daniel "Frontiersman" Boone. I would be interested in hearing about your Coles and am quite hopeful that I can help you or find out.
Hello Philisha, My family is buried in Koontz Cemetery. I do not recall seeing a Hile, Would she be in the newer section? What do you need from there? I'll be happy to assist. Pam
I'm looking for information on Stephen and Abigail FOUNTAIN YEOMAN who came to Fayette Co OH about 1816. Their son, Gilbert and his family moved to Henry CO, IA about 1840. I'm also trying to find information on Gilbert YEOMAN's wife, Anna Sweazy--who he either married in NY or in OH. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Oh Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Fayette/10247 Surname: ------------------------- The Bloomingburg Cemetery has been read and published by the Fayette County Genealogy Society. There is no stone for Lucretia Allen Hill in that cemetery. If she was buried there, the stone may be gone by now and records for that cemetery don't go back that far.
