Hi Marjie, The one I used and photocopied some pages from was a book. I copied the title page and the author's name was not on it but the title was "Genealogy of the Ridenour Family". Later, when I was puting the information in my genealogy program, I checked the Fairfield Co. District Library on-line catalog and wrote on the title page: "Author Jane Hunter Hodgson(?)". That is what I put in my documentation notes, but apparently I was not absolutely positive about that. The title page I copied has hand written on the left "Presented by Marjorie Ridenour Packer August, 1983". Stamped above the title is the following: FAIRFIELD COUNTY DISTRICT LIBRARY 219 NORTH BROAD STREET LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 LIBRARY USE ONLY HISTORICAL COLLECTION Also listed in the on-line catalog was "The Ridenour family from Rosenthal, Alsace, France to Hagerstown, Md., Fairfield Co., Oh. & Allen Co., Oh." library call # H.C. 929.3 Rid. I was able to open the book and copy 2 pages on one 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of paper implying the book is approximately 8" tall. Since then, the Fairfield Co. Chapter of The Ohio Genealogical Society has moved their things to a new location. Don't know what went with them and what remained at the district library. Perhaps you could tell by checking the library's on-line catalog if it is still there. Welllll. I checked the catalog. It has listed: Ridenour family history / Presented by Marjorie Ridenour Packer. Under that it has "Marjorie Ridenour Packer, 1983" implying she is the author. Library call # H.C. 929.2 Rid. So, I have some corrections to make! Sorry about that. The H.C. 929.3 Rid is by Jane Hunter Hodgson. The library thinks it was published in "1993?" so perhaps it wasn't in the library yet when we were there. The Ridenour's I was interested in went to Allen Co. Anyway, both books are in the district library. Good luck with your research!
