Hello Everyone and thanks to Louann, The information you gave was a big help.  I learned that one of my distant cousins was in the Civil War.   Ancestry.com had a link to National Park Service website that has a link to Civil War soldier that you can search by name.  I learned that James C Reat, the nephew of my great grandfather Rober Clark Reat was in teh 123rd Infantry. Now I am seeking 5x great grandfather.  The information I have is: James Reat b. 1768 in Aberdeen, Scotland (this is very possible) Died: Ohio around 1810. He had several children: John Reat b? Margaret Reat  d 1845 Milta Reat d.   1830 Robert Reat b.1785 James Reat b. 1790-1855 Hugh Reat b. 1792 Susan Reat b. 1837 d. 1869 I am looking for his death record, also I am looking also want his wife name may have been,.
