She married James Fife in Baltimore, Maryland 10-21-1821. James was from north of Pittsburgh, PA. They remained in the Baltimore area for about 10 years mitgrating to Carroll County, Ohio. By 1837 they were the parents of 7 sons and one daughter, James died in 1838 in Washington Twp., Carroll County, Ohio. All eight of the children and Hester went to Van Wert County after purchasing land grants. Their farms were located in Hoaglin Twp., Van Wert County, Ohio and some family members still farm there. The daughter is my line. I have located and connected all 8 children, through the library in Fort Wayne, Indiana and obits at the Van Wert Library. My brick wall is Hester. James's family history is very clear, but the connection to Baltimore isn't. The Fife Family stayed in an area together until 2 sons went to Iowa and the youngest child, Thomas Lee Fife and wife went to Kansas. The daughter married Zenas Norris's son, Jesse Townsend Norris and upon her death, he married a niece of a sister-in-law of his first wife. A grandson of Jesse, Elmer, came to Fairfield County in 1907. The Norris Family has many connections to Baltimore, MD and the surrounding area. I have connected the generations back to Congham, England and Thomas Noreys arriving in Talbot County, MD and changing the spelling to Norris. Now to find Hester's heritage.
