    3. There wouldn't be a birth certificate that early. Is there a Schumacher/Shumaker in 1830 census that has a male child the right age? If yes, I would investigate. I'm not signed up with Ancestry now so I can't look. I went to Google and typed in Hiram Schumaker ~genealogy and Hiram Shumaker ~genealogy and found lots of queries. Some of ;yours no doubt. Were there any Shumakers living near the Jacksons? Have you checked land records?
