He (John WELSHIMER) is buried in a small private cemetery on the SHAEFFER farm, Sunny Knob. Also buried in this cemetery are his wife Elizabeth, his daughter Mary, his son Henry and a grand-daughter Priscilla GRIFFITH. On the tombstone is the date of his death (30 Oct 1858) and his age - 70 yrs 6mo 7da - and also the following verse: Weep not for me as you pass by, What you now are so once was I. Farewell, my loving children dear, I am not dead, but sleeping here. Although my bodys turned to dust, I hope to rise among the just. Relations dear, refrain from tears.
