I have long been searching the lineage of Eli Hale. Now I have the parents of Eli, and am trying to get more information on them. I obtained Eli's death certificate, and his brother William's death certificate. I believe that Eli's parents were John HALE and Elizabeth HENRY. The death certificates conotradict each other, so I am not sure where they were born, but evidently at some time they lived in Fairfield County, OH. Eli and William lived in Henry County, OH. Eli Hale was born 12 JUN 1859 in Ohio. By the time he married, he was living in Henry County, OH. He died there as well. William HALE was born 21 OCT 1854 in Fairfield County, OH I think. He also moved on to Henry County, OH. Perhaps someone could check an 1860-70-80 (any of em!) census of Fairfield County? I would be very grateful for help. I have asthma and cannot do research on paper very easily, especially not with old documents. Learning the origin of this line is very important to me. Eli began about three generations of parent abandoning child. This deeply affected my grandfather, and even my mother! I really want to know why he did this, and if his whole family was the same way? It means a great deal to me. Did this precede Eli's generation? I am sorry to carry on, and I apologize if you get more than one copy of this query.
