    3. Follow up on my Email search for the writer of the 'mystery letter' by John Dye, written 1941, found among genealogy papers of my husband's Aunt Georgiana - died 30 years ago. : One of the 23 recipients of my email request identified the letter writer as a relative. He gave me two phone numbers of older family members whom he thought could be more specific. The first number was an elderly aunt who gave some interesting background stories but no dates, nothing specifically helpful on my search. The second number was very helpful, identified the gentleman, told me he was deceased, and gave me yet another number of a nephew - not with the Dye name - who was currently into genealogy. The nephew is a gold mine of information. He directed me to the State Historical Library, Columbus, OH where my mystery writer's files are on microfilm. He also sent me a GEDCOM with 411 names and of these 411 only 5 were people already in my database. This was a large unknown (to me) branch of the family. I am sure this will lead into other avenues. Total elapsed time from finding the mystery letter to making a great connection and assimilating the new people carefully into my database = 15 days. Better than the old snail mail days. Best of luck to others who try the same approach. Jayne
