Does anyone have anything on ALLSPAUGH? I'm at a dead end with "J.H. ALLSPAUGH". He must have been an alien from Mars because he has no parents. On the other hand, there is some evidence that he was born in Fairield County about 1815. The 1850 census of Baltimore, Liberty Township, Fairfield County contains a "J.H. Allspaugh". He is 37 years old and his (apparently new) wife Mary is 21. He has a daughter eleven, twin boys age ten, and a 6-month old boy. This man and his wife are buried in Mound Cemetery, Knox County. He is Joseph Henry and she is Mary Jane Reeder of Delaware County; they married in Delaware County on 15 March 1849. The children are Emily, twins Samuel and Harrison, and infant Henry Clay.
