My ancestor, Ezra CARPENTER, the son of Emanuel CARPENTER and Mary Salome "Sally" SHELLENBERGER, born 1803 in Lancaster, Fairfield Co., OH, was orphaned at the age of 15, after which he was apprenticed to RING & RICE. Does anyone know anything about RING & RICE? Was it a manufacturing company --- if so, what did they manufacture?
