    3. FOR BARBERTON, OHIO HISTORY & GENEALOGY PEOPLE Several years ago I acquired a box (about 8-1/2 lbs worth) of HISTORICAL NOTES made by Glen Hope, of the Barberton (Ohio) area. ANYONE can have this box of notes for the price of postage alone. It is a goldmine of information for any interested party of that area because it has a great amount of notes--handwritten by Mr. Hope as well as documented material. Here is a partial list: PHOTOS -- The PPG plant smoke stacks being demolished in Nov 1986 (with notes on back of photos); Saurer's Hardware taken by G. Potter (2 color photos); Old Red Caboose at 3rd & Tusc.; COPY of 1905 American Sewer Pipe Co. workers (3 photos); c. 1940's Barberton Chamber of Commerce postal cards (duplex view of) Columbia-Southern Chemical Corp and the "Streets in Limestone Mine 2300 feet underground"; GREENHOUSE at Corner of Hudson Run (?) and Van Buren; Welsh Church built around 1880. 10 x 13 ENVELOPE STUFFED with goodies. Personal handwritten notes made by Glen Hope--contains everything from a paper napkin from the "Magic City Centennial 1891-1991 celebration to photocopies of many historical newspaper articles including DATES when the newspaper companies were in business; history of Barberton post office, street names, police department, various business advertising brochures; 1985 calendar pages of historical buildings; stapled booklet of "A Christmas Story" 1891-1941 by Phyllis Taylor, Barberton History Specialist (8 pages plus covers); Johnson Band photo (with names!); COPY of "Pittsburgh PEOPLE" company newsletter by PPG; Radio transcripts for the "Acme Man" on Radio Station WADC & WAKR (photocopies) on 8-1/2 x 14" sheets; articles on the O.C.Barber Mansion. FOURTEEN (14) bound historical booklets of assorted churches and organizations. Two pocket folders STUFFED with newspaper clippings and handwritten notes.
